Beating Cancer

Early Life:-

It is very difficult to say where to start. If I remember correctly, I think it will make me depressed again. Many circumstances in life are difficult to describe. Today I am going to tell you the story of a girl who overcame cancer. This is the story of a girl who believes in God and that he will heal her. This is the story of my elder sister Arooj. Sister Arooj is our uncle's daughter. But she spent a major portion of her life with our family. Arooj was born in Stunzabad, a village near the Khanewal District in the Province of Punjab, Pakistan. Her father and our beloved uncle died of a heart attack at a very young age. Arooj received his early education in the village.

Later she moved to Karachi with us. My mother and father used to go to work and we live with sister Arooj. It would not be wrong to say that our sister Arooj was the one who took care of us as a child. A few years later we moved to Lahore. Then Arooj graduated from Cathedral Higher Secondary School with us but due to some problems, she could not continue her studies. Arooj has three brothers and two sisters. Over time, they all moved to Lahore.

Knowing About Cancer:-

Arooj holds a Bachelor's degree in Theology from the Full Gospel Assemblies of Pakistan. But after completing her degree she got involved in a debilitating disease, yes it's cancer. We all never thought anyone in our family would get a disease like cancer. Since my sister and I were still studying, we called her younger sister Anam to come and help us to take Arooj because as I already mentioned that my parents used to go on the job. Arooj herself did not understand what was happening to her. But when we checked in at Ittefaq Hospital, we discovered she had cancer. It was a terrible shock for my mother and father. Her first surgery was at Ittefaq Hospital. In which her tumor was removed. We all got a little peace of mind. But after many days, her tumor started growing again, which once again became a cause of trouble for all of us. We went to Shaukat Khanum Hospital for treatment. The hospital's management wants to get some information like the number of siblings she has, how many siblings are working or studying, about the parents, etc. We were all worried that we belong to a middle-class family and did not earn enough money to bear the expenses of a disease like cancer. But Arooj had a strong belief in God, and she knew that God was with her. She will surely heal. Shaukat Khanum Hospital treated Arooj for free.

The Hardships:-

During the treatment, Arooj faced challenging conditions. She had to undergo chemotherapy. Her hair fell out due to chemotherapy. Just think for a minute how you would feel if you were a girl and your hair fell off, and you had to look at yourself in the mirror every day. The hands' needle marks due to taking continuous injections to get relief from vomiting, stomach pain, migraine, etc. The veins of the hands had turned black, and the trembling of the hands never stopped. There was only pain and discomfort in the body all the time. The weakness was not going away, and the body color had turned black.

Praise The Lord

Recovering From Cancer:-

Even in all these circumstances, the Arooj always praise the Lord and did not stop thanking him. My father put ashes on his head and prayed for our elder sister to be saved. And the time came when God healed our sister and our sister became the splendor of our home again. The laughter that was lost came back once again.

Before Cancer, Fighting Cancer, After Cancer

Friends, this story teaches us that it might be possible that you may have never done anything wrong to anyone. It's always Satan who puts us in such difficulties but trust in God always helps you.

Be Happy and Be Strong.

It's been nine years that I and Farooq aka TED are best friends. I still remember the day when I met him. He just completed his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from NCBA&E (National College of Business Administration & Economics) and came to the Institute of Business Administration (A department of the University of Punjab) to do an MBA but due to some issues, we both got the admission in PGD (Post Graduation Diploma) in Business Administration so that we can fulfill the requirement for the MBA program. The bachelor's degree can be completed in 4 years but Ted just finished his degree in 3 years. Well, good for him and his family. I and Ted become friends in the second semester of PGD.
