Defining Arnold Schwarzenegger's Personality

Arnold Schwarzenegger was born July 30, 1947, in Thal, Austria. According to Schwarzenegger, both of his parents were very strict. He told that his father was a very strict man and beats him with a rod if he did anything wrong. It is seen that Arnold had a good relationship with his mother. As I researched on him I found that in school he was a cheerful, good-humored, energetic, lively kind of person and he was also fond of the gathering which shows that according To Big-Five Model Of Personality Dimensions he has the personality of both extroversion and agreeableness.

Started Body Building:-

As a boy, Arnold played several sports but most commonly he started playing soccer. At the age of 14, he started bodybuilding. He said that “I know that I was slim but another fact is that I was well-developed to start at the gym". As I researched him I found that with the passage of time Arnold becomes responsible and organized kind of a person which shows the personality trait of conscientiousness. I found that he wants to achieve something in his life,  he wants to be rich and something that no one could imagine becoming that person. Due to which I see here that as per Myers-Briggs Type Indicator he seems to become a visionary and organized person.

Early Adulthood:-

At the age of 18 years Arnold works in the Austria army which is considered to be compulsory for every Austrian boy. After that, he won many titles relating to bodybuilding, and at last, in 1967, Schwarzenegger won the title for the first time, becoming the youngest ever Mr. Universe at the age of 20. He would go on to win the title a further three times. Schwarzenegger then flew back to Munich, training for four to six hours daily, attending business school and working in a health club. After winning several titles he told his friend that "I'm going to become the greatest actor!”This shows that he has a proactive personality because he takes the opportunity and takes the initial steps to achieve his goals. Furthermore, he got a new type of personality trait i.e. conceptualizing personality. It might be possible that the personality of conceptualizing occurred in him because he was a business student also.

Moving to the United States:-

Schwarzenegger always dreamed of moving to the U.S. since the age of 10. He said that he knew that America is the country that can give him a lot of opportunities. Furthermore I find that he had also some English speaking and immigration problems but he overcome those problems and at last Arnold became the biggest movie star in the world in the 1990s.

By observing the acting skills that he performed in various films it is seen that as an actor he got multiple types of personalities that show his emotional stability, openness to experience, agreeableness, and conscientiousness.

Early Politics:-

Schwarzenegger has been a registered Republican for many years. As an actor, his political views were always well known as they contrasted with those of many other prominent Hollywood stars, who are generally considered to be a liberal and Democratic-leaning community. Schwarzenegger's first political appointment was as chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, on which he served from 1990 to 1993. He later served as Chairman for California Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports under Governor Wilson. He was appointed on different posts in different years, later on, he served as the Governor of California in 2003.

Business Career:-

Schwarzenegger has had a highly successful business career. By the age of 30, Schwarzenegger was a millionaire, well before his career in Hollywood. His financial independence came from his success as a budding entrepreneur with a series of successful business ventures and investments. By viewing his business career I found that he has a very good conceptualized trait that includes innovative and entrepreneurial characters. I also see that Arnold has a Type A Personality which shows that he wants to achieve in less time and obsessed with achievement numbers and they focus on quantity, not on quality.

Autobiography:-

Schwarzenegger's autobiography, Total Recall, was released in October 2012. He devotes one chapter called "The Secret" to his extramarital affair. The majority of his book is about his successes in the three major chapters in his life: bodybuilder, actor, and Governor of California
